Acquisition of ESAU & HUEBER strengthens market position

Bamberg – With effect from 1st October 2020, the family of companies SCHULZ Unternehmensfamilie e.K., which also includes the traditional Bamberg-based company KASPAR SCHULZ Brauereimaschinenfabrik & Apparatebauanstalt GmbH, will take over operations of its former competitor in Schrobenhausen.

After twelve years of affiliation, the BAUER Group, also based in Schrobenhausen in Upper Bavaria, is handing over ESAU & HUEBER GmbH to a new strategic partnership. “With this acquisition, we want to expand our area of expertise. We will now be able to provide our customers with comprehensive system solutions for transforming raw materials into beer, malt and whiskey”, explains Johannes Schulz-Hess, owner of the SCHULZ family of companies. He adds, “This opens up completely new possibilities both for us and for the industry”

The new partnership has also met with great approval on the part of ESAU & HUEBER GmbH. “The SCHULZ family of companies is the perfect partner to safeguard the future of our company. The Schrobenhausen site is being retained, the jobs of our 47 employees are secured and our product range will be suitably extended, particularly in the brewery and pharmaceutical sectors”, says Christoph Sedlaczek, Managing Director of ESAU & HUEBER GmbH. This company’s core business includes services and turnkey plants for the global brewing and beverage industry. Their activities in process automation and the successful pharmaceutical segment of the long-established Schrobenhausen-based company will be further developed in the future. Furthermore, their expertise in the yeast and aeration sector and in plant engineering for cold application areas in breweries will be expanded within the KASPAR SCHULZ family.

SCHULZ Unternehmensfamilie e.K. is a Bamberg-based family business in its tenth generation and a successful system provider for turnkey brewing and malting plants, distilleries and special tanks. With the acquisition of ESAU & HUEBER, the group, which in addition to KASPAR SCHULZ also includes HINKE Tankbau GmbH in Vöcklamarkt, Austria and KÜNZEL Maschinenbau GmbH in Mainleus, Upper Franconia, has grown to 375 employees and an annual turnover of around €60 million.
