SCHULZ helps in the fight against COVID

Bamberg - KASPAR SCHULZ is committed to helping other companies use its products to fight the global pandemic.

As related in media reports such as “Corona: BioNTech vaccine now also being produced in Reinbek” (NDR) about the company Dermapharm SE, the time-honoured Bamberg manufacturer KASPAR SCHULZ supplied the company with equipment for producing a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine.

In addition, two other companies in the SCHULZ brand family, Hinke Tankbau GmbH and Esau & Hueber GmbH, were pleased to receive several orders from the pharmaceutical segment to support the fight against COVID-19. For example, Hinke Tankbau GmbH is currently manufacturing various tanks for a new vaccine production plant in Wuppertal.

The companies based in Bamberg, Vöcklamarkt in Upper Austria and Schrobenhausen did an extraordinary job. True to their philosophy of “everything from a single source”, they were able to guarantee extremely fast delivery of the highest-quality system components thanks to their regional presence.

The brand family benefits from a centuries-long history and is brimming with state-of-the-art innovations. In addition to their core segments of brewery machinery, the companies also specialise in plant engineering for the food and pharmaceutical industries. This expertise is much appreciated not only by Dermapharm SE but also by the Munich-based company metabion international AG, which specialises in the production of laboratory reagents for COVID-19 tests. The products made by the SCHULZ brand family enable, among other things, ALLERGOPHARMA GmbH & Co. KG, a subsidiary of Dermapharm AG, to produce COVID-19 tests at their Reinbek site with a monthly production capacity of 40 to 50 million vaccine doses. ALLERGOPHARMA is part of a global production network that stabilises and bottles the mRNA active ingredient developed by BioNTech.

The Federal Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, was also impressed during a visit to Reinbek and emphasised that such a rapid organisation of vaccine production must surely be a record.
