Start of "SCHULZ Ideenschmiede"

More than just beer: KASPAR SCHULZ's new series of events offers practical solutions for existing breweries to ensure a future-proof position in the market.

BAMBERG – The beverage industry is undergoing a period of transformation. Consumers are increasingly replacing traditional beer with non-alcoholic alternatives and searching for new taste experiences. Against this backdrop, KASPAR SCHULZ, the world's oldest brewery equipment manufacturer, is inviting guests to Bamberg on April 16 & 17, 2026, for the premiere of its new event series “SCHULZ Ideenschmiede”. The title of the first event, “From Beer to Beverage Portfolio,” is aimed at breweries that want to tap into new market segments in the beverage sector and future-proof their businesses.

Tradition meets transformation

"At KASPAR SCHULZ, our aim is not only to manufacture the best plant technology for breweries, malt houses, and distilleries, but also to create enjoyment technology that inspires generations. At the SCHULZ Ideenschmiede, we are committed to broadening our horizons beyond the classic beer range and offering solutions that make our customers more successful in the long term," explains Johannes Schulz-Hess, managing director and company owner in the 10th family generation.

Expanding horizons with existing technology

A key aspect of the SCHULZ Ideenschmiede is integrating the technical implementation of new beverage concepts into existing production facilities. Many breweries already have the necessary basic technology to produce fermented lemonades, isotonic sports drinks, or non-alcoholic beers.
Christian Grasser (Head of Technology and Project Management at KASPAR SCHULZ) emphasizes the approach of the new event series: "Our goal is not to overwhelm breweries, but to show them possibilities. We analyze how existing equipment can be used efficiently for new products and where specific adjustments are necessary. We see ourselves as a technical companion and sparring partner who helps translate creative ideas into scalable processes."

Driving force behind the industry

On the evening before, April 16, 2026, the brewery equipment manufacturer is hosting a get-together in the unique city center of Bamberg, known as the “beer city,” to promote collegial exchange in a relaxed atmosphere. The series of events is intended to be a source of inspiration for an industry in transition, offering space for inspiration, professional exchange, and thinking outside the box. Participants can also look forward to a variety of external speakers from the industry who will present their additional expert knowledge.
