“Vom Halm zum Glas” talked to Todd Olander and Mike Myers from Root Shoot Malting in Colorado about how they can be in the unique position to control the entire malting process from seed variety and growth, to harvest, steeping, germination and final kilning.

Root Shoot Malting was the first craft malthouse in the United States who operate on a KASPAR SCHULZ malting system.

They won the gold medal at the Craft Maltsters Guild’s inaugural Malt Cup for best Pale Malt in 2019 and the bronze medal for their Light Munich Malt in 2020.
In this episode they revealed how local growing and producing of malt becomes more and more important these days.
