KASPAR SCHULZ RANKS AMONGST THE TOP 100 ONCE MORE
At the 26th event of the TOP 100 competition for innovation, which celebrates Germany’s most innovative SMEs, KASPAR SCHULZ Brauereimaschinenfabrik & Apparatebauanstalt GmbH from Bamberg made leaps into the ranks of excellence. The company was honoured on 28 June by the competition’s mentor, Ranga Yogeshwar, the scientific director responsible for the comparison, Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke, and compamedia in Frankfurt’s Jahrhunderthalle. TOP 100 evaluates the innovation management of medium-sized companies by means of a scientific classification method. During the independent selection process, the company, which employs around 200 people, was particularly impressive in terms of the innovative success that is has enjoyed.
KASPAR SCHULZ made the leap into the elite of innovation for the second time after 2019.
Located in the traditional beer producing town of Bamberg, KASPAR SCHULZ – the oldest brewery equipment factory in the world – has enjoyed many a year of growth. The company was founded right back in 1677 and is active internationally. In order to stay ahead as a technology leader at the same time, the TOP 100 company, which has been awarded a prize for the second time, has been kindling sparks of innovation under the leadership of managing director Johannes Schulz-Hess over the past three years. One example of this innovative prowess is the “X-Loop”, a heat exchange process that enables breweries to save energy. The heat from one brew is transferred to the next by means of a new type of plate heat exchanger. Other innovations are opening up completely new business areas: the “SCHULZ Malting System”, for example, is something that is in demand among medium-sized malthouses the world over.
At Top-Innovator these systems work to increase the depth of production. This also applies to a newly developed and now largely self-made filter system that reduces beer loss by 90 percent and is supplied in a range of sizes. New markets are being conquered with innovative cleaning technology: The fully automatic mobile cleaning station “CIP mobile” is not only an attractive option for breweries, but also for dairies and sugar factories.
